Subject New Mutual Offset System (MOS) Launch Thursday, September 7, 2000
Effective Date 08/30/00
Notice Number CM#0015

The launch of the new "allocate and claim" version of the Mutual Offset System has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 7, 2000.

As a reminder, the method for submitting an inter-exchange trade will not change. For example, the CME firm executes a MOS trade as any other trade, and in the FRGN-EXFRM field of the trade entry screen, enters an SX###, where ### is a valid SGX firm number. Once the trade matches locally, the trade will then be routed to the CLEARING 21 MUTUAL OFFSET SYSTEM. There it will remain in a pending status until accepted by the SIMEX firm.

On September 7th, the AM Inter-Exchange Match cycle will run as usual under the current MOS system. Following the AM Inter-Exchange Match at 8:30 am, the CME will switch over to the new C21 MOS System. The two MOS Entry screens in the Trade Entry System (TES), SIMEX CONFIRMATION ENTRY and IEX "B" RECORD ENTRY, which are used for resubmission to the Inter-Exchange Match will be disabled at 8:30 am. Any trades that remain unmatched in the old AM match will have to be Memoadded to the new system for the PM Inter-exchange Cycle.
